    Large District with a Small School
    Pineville Elementary is the smallest public school in the area but finds itself in the largest school district on the coast. The Pineville school has been around for decades and due to the small amount of students that attend it almost closed several years ago. Why keep it open? This school offers private school size classrooms for local children and limits their time traveling to and from school each day. As a matter of fact, there is only one grade that offers more than one teacher - 1st grade. Each class at Pineville ranges between 10 students and 20 students typically with one teacher, an aide, and a head teacher who travels from class to class. The Pineville school also offers two playgrounds, a heated and cooled gym, a baseball field, library, and tennis courts.

    Harrison County School District is the largest school district on the Coast and they have a lot to be excited about in 2015-2016 school year. The election is over and the new Superintendent is taking over the helm. We are excited to see what Roy Gill will bring to our communities.
